Dear members and supporters: I am writing to you to become a contributor to our Development Fund. The contribution categories are as follows:
|Platinum Court||$10,000 and above|
|Gold Court||$6,000 – $9,999|
|Silver Court||$3,000 – $5,999|
|Black Society||$2,000 – $2,999|
|Green Society||$1,000 – $1,999|
|Yellow Society||$100 – $999|
Though I am pleased to tell you that $17,000 have been donated, our goal of $100,000 cannot be built without your help. So please don’t delay making your contribution. Please be reminded that JAANC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, charitable corporation, and your contribution is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. After 37 years of existence and a recent name change and state-approved amended articles of incorporation, we need to establish a solid foundation for development of our stated purposes. Foremost, we need our own building to allow us to form and strengthen a bond of solidarity among all Jamaicans and our American supporters. We need to foster programs on financial literacy, Jamaican culture, and after-school tutoring. Overall, the opportunity for contributing to uplifting minorities and closing the great divide between Jamaicans and Americans as separate entities is within our grasp. I continue to be impressed by the depth of JAANC and our remarkable volunteers. Some highlights of what JAANC has accomplished are:
- Annual Walkathon – to support scholarships
- Annual Raffles – to support scholarships
- Annual Independence Day (July 4th) picnic – our hallmark event for community participation
- Independence Dance
- Thanksgiving support of families in need.
Each accomplishment is the result of hard work by our talented volunteers. Collectively, they show the JAANC to be a dynamic association with a commitment to quality and resourcefulness. But, we need additional funding to move beyond these accomplishments and start our run to significant membership in the non-profit, charitable community. Let’s challenge ourselves. That is why I urge you to make an assigned category contribution by going making your gift online or mail a check to our address. We need you, standing alongside the Executive Board to achieve our goal. And please be generous. Thank you.
Sincerely, Newton C. Gordon, DDS, MS Chairman of the Board
